This week, in Computing we used Microsoft Word to create a poster. We learned how to highlight text, copy and paste. We changed the background colour and added a boarder. We also finished our key pieces this week for: Jigsaw, Reading, Science and Art. In Science, we investigated which material created the most friction out of: astroturf, wood, cotton fabric and carpet. Most of us predicted the astroturf or the carpet would have the most friction because they were the bumpiest. The astroturf ended up having the most friction. In Geography, we learned about the impact of tourism. We learned that tourism could affect the environment, the economy and people socially. We also looked at the results from the parents’ survey and agreed with the findings. This will help us draw conclusions from our fieldtrip.

Our Flashback 4 questions on Blooket this week were:

1.What does ‘modesty’ mean?

2.How many countries are there in Europe?

3.What is the first stage of the life cycle of a plant? Germination, reproduction, seed dispersal, or growth?

4.The Egyptians believed in the afterlife. What was this place called?

After half term, we will be going on our Geography fieldtrip around Keyingham to observe social, environmental, or economic impact of tourism in the village. We will also be starting a new History topic and asking the question, ‘Who were the Ancient Greeks?’

Our spelling rule after half term is “l‘’ sounding words: alter, altar, probably, Bible, collapse, collision, conclusion, parallel, excellent, develop, cereal, serial

After half term, Dance will be on Tuesday and Thursday alternating weeks. The first week back, it will be on Thursday.
