This week in class we have brought together the different things we have learnt to create our key pieces on the following topics: RE, Jigsaw, Writing and Science! Our RE key piece focused on the question: ‘How does the Hindu home shrine appeal to the 5 senses?’. Our Jigsaw key piece focused on the question: ‘What relationship makes us feel safe?’. In art this week we also started to experiment with wax resist using watercolours.
Our Flashback 4 questions have been:
Today: Can you name the different seas and ocean that surrounds the UK?
2. This/last week: True or false: Liquids take the shape of the container they are in.
3. Last term: What time is shown on my clock?
4. Last term: What 4 things do animals need to survive?
Next term we will be learning about: In History we will be focusing on 2 different explorers. In Science we will consolidate all our year 2 learning. In RE we will be asking the question ‘How do celebrations give Hindu’s a sense of belonging? In DT we will be focusing on mechanisms. In computing we will be learning about creating music using digital media.
In Phonics: most of the children are now learning the Set 3 sounds (see sound mats in bookbags to support your child with their learning). Please continue to read and change their books regularly.
Book Bags: please send your child with their books on a Monday to be changed for the week. Please read the book several times until they are fluent and no longer sounding out all the words.
