This week, we celebrated VE day with some Lindy Hop dancing on the playground. Our favourite dance moves were the chicken and the itch. We learned about what it would have been like to live during World War 2 with rationing going on. Some people would have to grow their own vegetables if they could and even eat offal because they didn’t have access to a lot of meat. We thought it would be difficult to have a balanced diet during this time because there wasn’t a lot of food options. In Art, we learned how to mix paint to match different skin tones, which we will use for our portraitures. To do this, we mixed a bit of all the primary colours and then tinted and toned them with white and black paint to lighten and darken the skin colours. In French this week, we learned how to say ‘more than one’ fruit. We had to change the first part to ‘les’ (pronounced lay) instead of ‘une’ or ‘un’ which means one. So, une pomme (an apple) would become les pomme (apples)

We used Blooket again to answer our Flashback 4 questions. The new questions added this week were:

1.Forces to an object can change 3 things. Which one does a force NOT change? Direction, speed, size, or shape?

2.What is a headdress that some Muslim women choose to wear called?

3.Which is a human feature? Mountain, road, river, or forest?

4.What is a physical feature? Mountain, road, river, or forest?

Next week, we will be asking “What is it like to wear a hijab in the UK today?” and “What are the human & physical features of Keyingham?”

Our spelling rule next week is “er‘’ sounding words: confirm, herbivore, permanent, persistent, transfer, research, calendar, referred, father, farther

Next week, Dance will be on Thursday.
