In Maths, we have been using known number facts to add and subtract decimals, both within and across 1.
In Writing, we’ve been exploring poetry with a focus on using metaphors to create vivid imagery and meaning.
In Reading, we’ve continued to decode William Shakespeare’s The Tempest. We also had our first in-school workshop with the Shakespeare Company as we prepare for our performance at Hull Truck Theatre—rehearsals are now underway!
In Science, we investigated the force of friction by measuring in Newtons. We also explored air resistance through a parachute experiment and consolidated our understanding of pulleys.
In Computing, we created our own vector drawings by grouping shapes, copying, pasting, resizing, and adjusting features.
In History, we’ve been learning about early civilisations, including the Shang Dynasty, Kingdom of Kush, Indus Valley, and Ancient Sumer.
Next week we will be asking the questions.
- How can I use precise vocabulary to enhance the meaning of a poem?
- How do I add and subtract decimals with the same number of decimal places?
- What will I discover on our ‘Food and Farming’ day?
- Does the shape of an object affect the level of water resistance?
Dance this week will take place Monday and Friday. Please remember to come in your PE kit.
